Situated right behind the hotel, the new extension used to be a former print shop hosted in a historic Eiffel building, adorned with an incredible glass and metal facade and impressive skylights. François Champsaur was again entrusted with the interiors and signs some super sleek spaces bathed with light.
The predominant black and white duet is softened by some curvy brushed oak whilst brightened by touches of Mondrian-inspired colours (plus these Wrong for Hay Nathalie du Pasquier cushions I love and used on this project). The choice in design furniture and Mid-Century Modern references is also very sharp: Serge Mouille is a familiar one but you don’t see that many Gilda armchairs (Carlo Molino for Zanotta, 1954) or Tre Pezzi Metropolitana armchairs (Franco Albini for Cassina, 1959) around. On the walls, the art picked by the hotel owner from renowned Parisian galleries (Maeght, Marie Ricco, Catherine Putman) accentuate the artist’s workshop atmosphere.
